OUR
CORE
OBJECTIVES

Intersectional Justice:

We aim to build a socioecological model that addresses the unique and overlapping ways in which race, gender, sexuality, and class shape the experiences of Black queer communities.

Our work is grounded in Black feminism, and queer liberation integrating these frameworks to create holistic solutions to the crises facing marginalized populations.

Holistic Socioecological Approach:

At the heart of our approach is the recognition that social and ecological systems are interconnected. We believe that solutions to the climate crisis, economic inequality, and social justice must be integrated. Our work links the fight for racial justice, gender justice, environmental sustainability, and economic transformation, understanding that the health of people and the planet are inseparable.

Community Empowerment and Knowledge:

We prioritize community-led solutions, building on the expertise and resilience of Black queer communities. We aim to uplift local leadership and re-establish connections to traditional ecological knowledge, land stewardship, and healing practices that have been marginalized by colonialism and capitalism. This includes supporting grassroots efforts that advocate for land sovereignty, climate justice, health equity, and economic justice in our communities.

Healing and Resilience:

We prioritize healing and well-being for Black queer people, particularly in response to the compounded traumas of environmental injustice, social exclusion, and systemic violence. Through initiatives focused on mental health, emotional resilience, and cultural restoration, we aim to foster spaces where Black queer communities can reclaim joy, creativity, and collective power.

Collaboration and Solidarity:

Our think tank fosters collaborative action across movements, engaging with other social justice, environmental, and decolonial organizations that share our vision of a more just and sustainable world. We prioritize building solidarity with Indigenous peoples, communities of color, LGBTQIA+ groups, and other marginalized communities who are fighting for freedom and dignity.
